CBI ARRESTS A DOCTOR IN A BRIBERY CASE

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Doctor of Airport Health Organization Ministry of Family & Welfare (GOI) at Sahar International Airport Mumbai & his driver for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.3,000/- from the complainant.

A case was registered U/s 120-B of IPC and Sec. 7 & 8 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against Doctor of Airport Health Organization M/o Health and Family Welfare (GOI) posted at Sahar International Airport Mumbai & his driver for demanding a bribe of Rs.3,000/- from the complainant for issuing Certificate of Vaccination of Yellow Fever for traveling to South Africa. CBI laid a trap and both the accused were caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.3,000/- from the complainant outside the Sahar International Airport. The Doctor was giving vaccination in his personal car parked outside the Airport and not in his official cabin situated inside the Sahar International Airport, Mumbai.

Searches were conducted at the premises of Doctor which yielded recovery of 2 kg gold ornaments and documents relating investment in properties besides other incriminating documents.

Both the arrested accused are being produced today in the Designated Court at Mumbai.
