CBI ARRESTS THE THEN ADDL. MANAGING DIRECTOR, NAFED & FIVE OTHERS FOR CAUSING HUGE LOSS TO NAFED

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested six accused persons for allegedly cheating NAFED (National Agricultural Co-operative Marketing Federation of India Ltd.) to the tune of Rs.90 crore (approx); Rs.59 crore (approx); and Rs.18.33 crore (approx) respectively in three separate cases relating to iron-ore fines.

The arrested accused, the then Addl.MD, NAFED (IRS-1985), now Commissioner Income Tax, Agra named in three separate cases; a CMD (resident of Noida)of a New Delhi based firm named in one of the cases; a Joint MD of a firm (resident of Lajpat Nagar, Delhi) named in one of the cases; a Proprietor of a firm (resident of old Delhi) named in one of the cases; a Chief Executive Officer of a New Delhi based firm (resident of Gwalior) named in one of the cases and a CMD of Cuttak based firm named in one of the cases are being produced today in the Designated Court at New Delhi & other places.

These cases were transferred from Delhi Police to CBI. CBI registered the cases and took up the investigation.
