CBI REGISTERS SEPARATE CASES AGAINST TWO BELLARY BASED MINING FIRMS & OTHERS AND CONDUCTS SEARCHES

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered two separate cases under relevant Sections of Indian Penal Code, Prevention of Corruption Act, Indian Forest Act and MMDR Act against two Bellary based mining firms and others on the directions of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.

Searches were being conducted at the residence of the then Minister for Mines, Government of Karnataka; the then Deputy Conservator of Forests, Bellary, the then Director, Mines and Geology Department, Government of Karnataka; Proprietors/Directors of various firms at Bangalore, Bellary, Dharward, Davangere and Chitradurga. Incriminating documents seized so far are being scrutinized.

Investigation is continuing.
