TWO OFFICIALS OF NATIONAL SEEDS CORPORATION SENTENCED IN A CBI CASE

The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bangalore has convicted Shri G.Ansar Pasha, the then Area Manager & Shri K.V.Rama Reddy, the then Assistant Grade.II, both of National Seeds Corporation, Hassan (Karnataka) to undergo Simple Imprisonment for a period of 1½ years with a fine of Rs.80,000/-.

A charge sheet was filed against both the accused U/s 120-B r/w 420, 409, 477-A IPC and Section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The allegations as per the charge sheet were that Shri K.V.Rama Reddy along with Shri G.Ansar Pasha had entered into a criminal conspiracy during the year 1996 to 2002 in the matter of misappropriating various varities of seeds from the godowns of National Seeds Corporation and in order to conceal the same, they had raised fictitious adjustment bills. A loss of Rs.62.91 lakh was caused to National Seeds Corporation.

The Trial Court found both the accused guilty and convicted them.
