CBI RESCUES TWO TAMILNADU BASED BUSINESSMEN ABDUCTED & HELD IN CAPTIVITY IN DELHI AND ARRESTS FOUR ACCUSED PERSONS

The Central Bureau of Investigation has today rescued two Tamilnadu based businessman from Mohan Garden locality of South West Delhi who were abducted by a gang and were held in captivity in Delhi, since 25th November, 2011. Four abductors have been arrested.

The Abductors had allegedly demanded and received a ransom of Rs. 25 lakhs in the form of RTGS Bank transfer in a Delhi based bank account.

CBI had received an information to the effect that a gang was involved in criminal activities and was running abduction and extortion. The gang contacts businessmen from different parts of the country, lures them to come to Delhi on different business pre-texts, abducts them and keeps them at different hide-outs and extorts money from them.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that one of the accused is involved in cases of Arms Act and other offences at various Police Stations in Delhi and was also externed from Delhi.

Documents recovered during searches reveal that accused persons were in possession of large number of forged documents, which are being scrutinised. Preliminary scrutiny indicates involvement of the said gang in large scale money laundering activities.

The arrested accused persons will be produced tomorrow before the competent Court, New Delhi.

All investigative leads are being pursued.
