ACCUSED SENTENCED TO UNDERGO LIFE IMPRISONMENT IN RAKESH @ LARA MURDER CASE

The Special Judge, CBI, Panchkula, Haryana has convicted accused Naresh @ Neshi U/s 302 IPC & 25 of Arms Act and sentenced him to undergo Life Imprisonment with fine of Rs.6000/- in the murder of Sh. Rakesh @ Lara.

CBI took up the investigation of FIR No.232 Dated 27.08.2007, P.S. City Gohana (Haryana) U/s 302, 34 IPC;25/50 of Arms Act and 3 (5) of SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act on the request of Haryana Govt. & further directions from Govt. of India and registered the case on 14.09.2007. It was alleged that one Rakesh @ Lara r/o Balmiki Basti, Gohana, on 27.08.2007 was murdered on 27.08.2007 by assailants who came on a motor cycle around 08:45 PM and fired indiscriminately at him near Khasa School, Gohana (Haryana).

After thorough investigation, a chargsheet was filed in the Court of Special Judicial Magistrate-I, Ambala on 26.11.2007 against accused Naresh @ Neshi; Dinesh @ Dinu; Prahlad, Sanjay Bhutana (since dead); Dinesh; Ram Niwas @ Kallu and Ashok in this sensational case. Subsequently, the case was committed to the sessions on 21.12.2007. The Hon’ble High Court, Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh had ordered the Trial Court for conducting the trial on day to day basis.

The Trial Court found accused Naresh @ Neshi guilty for the offences and convicted him. Sh. Dinesh @ Dinu; Prahalad; Dinesh; Ram Niwas @ Kallu and Ashok have been acquitted by the Trial Court.
