CBI ARRESTS THREE OFFICIALS OF ORDNANCE FACTORY, AMBAZARI, NAGPUR IN A BRIBERY CASE

           The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Joint GM and two Joint Works Managers of Ordnance Factory, Ambazari, Nagpur for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000/- and Rs. 6,000/- & Rs.6,000/- respectively from Nagpur based complainant for releasing outstanding payment of Rs.90,000/- towards their firm and for giving further material.

            A case was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by one of the partners of Nagpur based firm. The complainant alleged that he was given a contract for electroplates and dyeing of cartridge cases by Ordnance Factory on the basis of lowest tender. However, the accused officials who were Incharge of Cartridge Case Section were not supplying the material for the work and were not releasing the payment for the work done by complainantsí firm. When the partner met these officials, they demanded bribe for releasing the payment and also issuing material to the company. It was alleged that that the company was given only about 17240 pieces over a period of one year against the order for 94400 number cartridge cases.

            CBI laid a trap and caught red handed Joint GM; Jr. Works Manager and another Jr. Works Manager, Ordnance Factory, Ambazari, Nagpur for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000/-, Rs.6,000/- and Rs.6,000/- respectively from the partner of Nagpur based firm.

           During the search of the residential premises of Joint GM, cash of Rs.3.95 lakhs and the documents were recovered.

            Further investigation is continuing.
