CBI FILES A CHARGESHEET AGAINST AN MLA OF JHARKHAND IN DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE

         A chargesheet has been filed in a Disproportionate Assets case against an MLA, Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha who was formerly a Minister in  Jharkhand. Six more persons i.e. his wife; brother-in-law; two brothers; nephew & an Associate have also been chargesheeted for having abetted the offence.  The CBI investigation has revealed the alleged possession of assets disproportionate to the extent of Rs.16.82 crore over and above income.

 

          This case was earlier investigated by the Jharkhand State Vigilance.  The Hon’ble Jharkhand High Court, while hearing a PIL, transferred investigation of this case to CBI.

 

          The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it.  Under the Indian Law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.
