CBI REGISTERS A CASE AGAINST CERTAIN OFFICIALS OF AIR FORCE & NAVAL HOUSING BOARD AND OTHERS RELATING TO ALLEGED FRAUDULENT ACQUISITION OF LAND

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against certain officials of Air Force and Naval Housing Board (AFNHB); a New Delhi based Estate & construction private company and others for fraudulent acquisition of land under a scheme of dwelling farm units for serving and retired Air Force and Navy Officers.

 

            It is alleged that the then DG, AFNHB, DDG, AFNHB and the then Director (Works), AFNHB, New Delhi during the year 1996 selected the New Delhi based Estate & Construction private company for the purchase of land situated in village Kabulpur in Haryana and Motiput in UP, its development and construction of 300 dwelling farm units at project site called "Y" without verification of the title and physical location of the land. The accused showed favour to the private party resulting in undue wrongful loss Rs.28 Crores (Approx) to AFNHB and corresponding gain to themselves.

 

            After registration of the case, the searches at the premises of the then concerned officials of AFNHB and the private parties were conducted which resulted recovery of several incriminating documents. The documents recovered during the searches are under scrutiny.
