CBI REGISTERS A CASE AGAINST THE THEN MEMBER SILVASSA GROUP GRAM PANCHAYAT & SILVASSA MUNICIPAL COUNCIL FOR POSSESSION OF ASSETS DISPROPORTIONATE TO INCOME

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against a Member of Parliament(Lok Sabha), on the allegations of amassing disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.2.18 crore(approx.) during the period 2001 to 2009 when he was functioning as Member of Silvassa Group Gram Panchayat, Member of Interim Council of Silvassa Municipal Area and Member of Silvassa Municipal Council on different occasions.

 

            Searches at the official and residential premises of the public servant are being conducted at New Delhi and Dadra Nagar & Haveli (UT).

 

            Incriminating documents relating to possession of movable and immovable assets recovered during searches are being scrutinized.

 

            Further investigation is continuing.
