CBI ARRESTS TWO ACCUSED FOR CREATING AND RUNNING FAKE WEBSITES OF GOVERNMENT ORGANISATIONS

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested 2 persons on the charges of running fake offices in the names of government organizations like 'Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Awam Suchna Sansthan' and NAREGA Samiti. The case has been registered under section 120B, 420 IPC, Section 66 A (b)(c) & 66 D of IT Act and Section 7(1) r/w 3 of The State Emblem of India Act 2005.

 

            It was alleged that the accused persons used to create websites with National emblem on it appearing to be Govt. websites and advertised/invited applications for various types of jobs and alluring people to deposit money in the form of fee for such posts. The money so received in smaller amounts from a large number of people was then withdrawn through bank accounts based in Delhi. The investigation has so far revealed that after running the office/ website for a limited period of 3-4 months, the exercise was again done with a different name and address. It has also come to notice that most of the persons cheated or allured are from Jharkhand and West Bengal.

 

            Further investigation is in progress.
