CBI FILES CHARGESHEET AGAINST THE THEN MINISTER FOR WATER RESOURCES AND CIVIL SUPPLIES, GOVT. OF JHARKHAND IN A DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a chargesheet in the Court of Special Judge, CBI, Ranchi against the then Minister for Water Resources and Civil Supplies, Government of Jharkhand, and his wife, for possessing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

 

            The accused persons allegedly possessed disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.5.42 crore(approx.). The case was registered by CBI on transfer from the Jharkhand State Vigilance in pursuance of the orders of Hon'ble Jharkhand High Court against the then Chief Minister and three ex-Ministers of Jharkhand. CBI has already filed two chargesheets against the former Chief Minister, Jharkhand and his associates for alleged misuse of official position and another against an ex-Minister for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets.

 

            The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian Law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.
