TWO ACCUSED SENTENCED FOR SECURING EMPLOYMENT ON FORGED SCHEDULED TRIBE CERTIFICATES

            The ACMM, Karkardooma, Delhi has convicted Shri Ritu Pran, the then Dark Room Assistant of Government Press, Mayapuri, Delhi in a case of cheating & forgery and sentenced him to undergo three years Simple Imprisonment with a fine of Rs.10,000/-. The accused went in appeal in the Court of District Judge, Karkardooma, Delhi against the conviction which was dismissed by the Appellate Court.

 

            A case was registered against Shri Ritu Pran, Dark Room Assistant in Government of India Press, Mayapuri, New Delhi & a resident of District Chhapra(Bihar) on the allegation that he had obtained employment in 1997 on the basis of forged/fake Scheduled Tribe Certificate purportedly issued from the office of District Magistrate, Chhapra. During investigation, it was found that no such Scheduled Tribe Certificate was ever issued in his favour from the office of District Magistrate Chhapra(Bihar).

 

            CBI filed a chargesheet in the Trial Court at Karkardooma, Delhi. The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him. The accused has also been dismissed from the service by his Department.

 

            In another case, the ACMM, Karkardooma, Delhi has convicted Shri Saravjeet Mahto, a resident of District Saran(Bihar) and sentenced him to undergo three years Simple Imprisonment with a fine of Rs.5000/-

 

            A case was registered by CBI in June, 2009 on the allegation that Shri Saravjeet Mahto, a resident of District Saran(Bihar) had secured employment for the post of Subordinate Staff in the Oriental Insurance Company Ltd., New Delhi in the year 1995 on the basis of forged/fake ST certificate purportedly issued from the Office of District Magistrate, Chhapra(Bihar). During investigation, it was found that no such scheduled tribe certificate was ever issued in his favour from the office of District Magistrate, Chhapra(Bihar).

 

            After investigation, a chargesheet was filed against Shri Saravjeet Mahto in the Court of ACMM, Karkardooma in December, 2009. After trial, the Court of ACMM, Karkardooma, Delhi has held the accused guilty of cheating & forgery and convicted him.
