CBI TAKES UP INVESTIGATION OF AN ALLEGED MALPRACTICE IN RAJYA SABHA ELECTIONS DURING MARCH 2012 IN THE STATE OF JHARKHAND

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case on a reference from the Election Commission of India with the directions of Hon'ble Jharkhand High Court relating to an alleged malpractice in Rajya Sabha Elections during March 2012 in the State of Jharkhand.

 

            CBI took up the investigation in this case which was earlier registered under State Police at Namkum P.S. Case No. 58/12, dated 30-03-2012 U/s. 171(F), 188 r/w 34 of IPC.

 

            Searches were conducted on 21.4.2012 at 12 places in Ranchi; Jamshedpur; Chaibasa; Daltonganj; Jamtara and Deoghar. Documents recovered during searches are being scrutinized.

 

            Further Investigation is continuing.
