CBI REGISTERS A CASE AGAINST CERTAIN OFFICERS OF CPWD, DDA AND A PRIVATE FIRM FOR ALLEGED IRREGULARITIES RELATING TO LAYING OF FIVE SYNTHETIC TRACKS FOR COMMONWEALTH GAMES-2010

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case in connection with the laying of 5 synthetic tracks for Commonwealth Games, 2010 Delhi against the then certain officers of CPWD, DDA and a Delhi based private firm on the allegations of criminal conspiracy to cheat the Govt. of India in the award of contract worth Rs. 60.37 crore(approx). In furtherance of the criminal conspiracy, the private firm quoted exorbitant rates which were wrongfully justified by the accused officials of CPWD and DDA. The allegations also include undue favour to the firm by circumventing the eligibility criteria in the award of contract.

 

            Searches are being conducted today at 20 places including NCR; Delhi; UP; West Bengal and other places.

 

            Further investigation is in progress.
