CBI REGISTERS A CASE AGAINST TWO PRIVATE PERSONS & OTHERS RELATING TO ALLEGED BRIBERY FOR APPOINTMENT OF TEACHERS IN UT,CHANDIGARH AND CONDUCTS SEARCHES

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a Case U/s 120-B r/w 420 of IPC and U/s 8 & 9 of the PC Act, 1988 against two private persons and other unknown public servants on the orders of the Hon’ble High Court of Punjab & Haryana passed in CWP No.17021 of 2009 transferring the FIR No. 162 dated 05.09.2009 of Police Station Industrial Area, Chandigarh.

 

            It was alleged that during the period from 2007-09, the FIR named middlemen in collusion with the unknown public servants of Department of Education, UT, Chandigarh were demanding illegal gratification for appointment of teachers by the Department of Education, UT, Chandigarh.

 

            Searches were conducted today at 4 places in the residence cum office of the then DPI(S), UT, Chandigarh and residential premises of both middlemen/private persons.

 

            Several incriminating documents recovered so far during the searches are being scrutinized.

 

            Further investigation is continuing.
