CBI FILES CHARGESHEET AGAINST THEN MLA OF BANDA(U.P) AND TWO OTHER PERSONS ON THE ALLEGATIONS OF RAPE & MOLESTATION

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has today filed two chargesheets in the court of Additional District Judge-I, Banda(UP) on the allegations of rape & molestation - one against the then MLA of Banda(U.P) U/s 376 of IPC and the second against two other private persons U/s 323 & 354 of IPC.

 

            CBI registered the case on 16.09.2011 on the orders of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition (Crl.) No. 15 of 2011 dated 12.09.2011

 

            CBI took up investigation of the case against the then MLA, Banda and 4 others for allegations of rape & molestation U/s 376, 354,323,504 & 506 of IPC. Earlier, the local police had registered the case and filed an initial chargesheet against the then MLA and 04 others in the competent court.

 

            After thorough investigation, CBI filed two chargesheets -- one against the then MLA and another against two accused persons. Since allegations against 2 other accused were not substantiated during investigation, no chargesheet had been filed against them.

 

            The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian Law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.
