CBI ARRESTS A JUNIOR ENGINEER OF DELHI JAL BOARD FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF Rs. 50,000/-

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Junior Engineer of Delhi Jal Board, posted in Shalimar Bagh, Delhi for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant.

 

            It was alleged in the complaint that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs. 90,000/- from the complainant (a contractor) for passing his bills amounting to Rs. 2.10 lakhs (Approx.). A case was registered under section - 7 of PC Act, 1988.

 

            CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant. Searches were carried out at his residential premises.

 

            The arrested accused is being produced today before The Special Judge for CBI cases at Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi.
