CBI ARRESTS A SENIOR MANAGER OF BANK OF INDIA FOR ACCEPTING A BRIBE OF RS. ONE LAKH

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Senior Manager, Bank of India, Main Branch, Mumbai for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.One lakh from the complainant (a Financial Consultant).

 

            It was alleged in the complaint that the accused had demanded bribe from the said Consultant @ 5% of the subsidy claims filed by the Consultant on behalf of his various clients and directed him to give a bribe of Rs. One lakh.

 

            CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.One lakh from the complainant.

 

            Searches were conducted at the official & residential premises of the accused at Mumbai, Titwala and Kolkata which yielded a recovery of cash Rs. 25 lakhs (approx.) and gold coins weighing 150 grams.

 

            The accused was produced before Special Judge, Mumbai and was remanded to police custody till 10 July, 2012.
