THREE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO A THEN OFFICER OF STATE BANK OF INDIA IN A CHEATING CASE.

            The Special Judge for CBI Cases has convicted Shri Aslam Dalal, the then Officer of State Bank of Saurashtra, Bhav Nagar(Gujrat) {Presently merged with State Bank of India) and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.2000/- on the grounds of criminal breach of trust & criminal misconduct by a public servant and cheating.

 

            CBI had filed chargesheet in the Special Court for CBI Cases, Mumbai against Shri Aslam Dalal, Officer, formerly State Bank of Saurashtra(presently merged with State Bank of India); his brother and his associate for defrauding about Rs.Two crore of the bank by fraudulently obtaining the computer passwords of the other staffs of the branch. The accused misused such passwords to fraudulently diverting the funds of the bank to the tune of Rs.Two crore to the accounts of his brother and associates through RTGS during the period 2005-06.

 

            The Trial Court found the accused Aslam Dalal guilty and convicted him. The Court acquitted the two other persons.
