TWO OFFICIALS OF DELHI POLICE SENTENCED IN A BRIBERY CASE

            The Special Judge, CBI cases, Saket Court, New Delhi has convicted Sh. Dalip Pawar, Assistant Sub-Inspector and Sh. Yogendra, Constable both from Delhi Police U/s 120B r/w Section 7 & 13(1) (d) r/w 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in a bribery case and sentenced Sh. Dalip Pawar to undergo three years & six months Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 40,000/- and accused Sh. Yogendra to undergo three years & six months Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 25,000/-.

 

            The investigation revealed that the Police officials during their posting in Police Station (Narcotics), Kamla Market, Delhi in the year 2006 had allegedly pressurized the complainant for giving bribe of Rs. One lakh. Both the accused were arrested.

 

            The Trial Court found the accused persons guilty and convicted them.
