THREE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THE THEN DEPUTY MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT OF A CHHINDWARA BASED HOSPITAL IN A BRIBERY CASE

            The Special Judge, CBI cases, Jabalpur has convicted Dr. Ravindra Katharia, the then Dy. Medical Supdt., Dr. Bheemrao Ambedkar Hospital, Kanhan Area, Junnerdeo, WCL, Chhindwara (M.P) and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 7,000/-.

 

            CBI filed a charge sheet before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jabalpur on 25/03/2009 U/s 120B of IPC and 7 & 13(2) r/w (1)(d) of P.C. Act. 1988, alleging that the Dr. R. K. Katharia of Western Coalfields Ltd., Kanhan Area (Madhya Pradesh) had demanded a bribe of Rs. 6,000/- from the Complainant for issuance of favourable medical examination report. Dr. Katharia was caught red handed on 16.09.2008 while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 6,000/- from the Complainant.

 

            The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted them.
