CBI FILES A CHARGESHEET AGAINST NINE ACCUSED PERSONS AND FOUR PRIVATE FIRMS IN A CASE RELATING TO ALLEGED IRREGULARITIES IN VANPIC PROJECT OF ANDHRA PRADESH

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has today filed a chargesheet against thirteen accused including a Member of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh; the then three Senior Officers (IAS & others) of Andhra Pradesh; three private persons/businessmen; two then Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and four private firms based in Andhra Pradesh U/s 120-B, 409, 419, 420, 468, 471, 477-A of IPC & u/s 9, 11, 12, 13(2) r/w 13(1) (c) & (d) of the PC Act, 1988 and substantive offences thereof, in the court of Principal Special Judge for CBI cases Hyderabad in a case related to alleged irregularities in the Vadarevu And Nizampatnam Port & Industrial Corridor (VANPIC) Project.

 

            CBI registered the case on 17th Aug, 2011 and filed a chargesheet today after thorough investigation.

 

            The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian Law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.
