CBI REGISTERS A CASE AGAINST FOUR OFFICIALS OF ORGANISING COMMITTEE, COMMON WEALTH GAMES -2010 AND OTHERS FOR ALLEGED IRREGULARITIES IN AWARDING CONTRACTS

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against the then Chairman; the then Chief Operating officer ; the then Treasurer & the then Secretary General (all of Organising Committee, Common Wealth Games - 2010) and the CEO of Switzerland based company & his firm and other unknown persons U/s 120 B of IPC r/w 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 for alleged irregularities in awarding contracts, relating to Games Workforce and Planning, Project & Risk Management Services.

 

            It was alleged that the officials of Organising committee, CWG -2010 and others committed irregularities at various levels & stages in awarding of two contracts namely Games Workforce Service (GWS) and Games Planning, Project & Risk Management Services (GPPRMS) to a Switzerland based firm. It was also alleged that an undue pecuniary gain was caused by the officials of the Organising Committee to the consortium of Switzerland based firm by way of awarding the said two contracts in a wrongful manner.

 

            Further investigation is continuing.
