SEVEN YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO TWO ACCUSED, BOTH BANGLADESHI NATIONALS IN A CASE RELATING TO SEIZURE OF FAKE INDIAN CURRENCY NOTES

           The Addl. Session Judge, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi has convicted two accused persons namely Rashid Ahmed and Narun Nahar Lovely, both Bangladeshi nationals and sentenced them to undergo seven years  Rigorous Imprisonment U/s 489 B and 489 C of IPC with  fine of Rs. 1,00,000/- each. Sh. Rashid Ahmed is reported to be a known sculptor.

 

           The case was registered on 28.02.2005 on the basis of a complaint from DRI, New Delhi in which Fake Indian Currency Notes to the tune of Rs.45.98 lacs were seized from the accused persons.

 

           After thorough investigation, a charge sheet  was filed against them  by CBI on 29.07.2005.

 

           The Trial Court found both the accused guilty and convicted them.
