THREE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT WITH FINE OF Rs. THREE LAKH TO THEN CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER OF BORDER SECURITY FORCE IN A CORRUPTION CASE

           The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal has convicted Shri B.K.Sahoo, the then Chief Medical Officer, Composite Hospital, BSF Academy, Tekenpur, Gwalior (MP)  U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.Three Lakh. The court further ordered confiscation of  Rs.44,59,064/- which was found to be disproportionate.

 

           CBI  had registered a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 on 9.3.2002 on the basis of a complaint  received from BSF Academy, Tekenpur Camp at New Delhi alleging therein recovery of huge cash  by Board of Officers of BSF amounting to Rs.49,35,500/- from a flat in Sector-VII, Pushap Vihar, New Delhi which was kept in two suit cases and concealed by Dr. B.K.Sahoo, CMO, Composite Hospital,BSF Academy, Tekenpur. It was alleged that he took illegal gratifications from various candidates desirous of recruitment in BSF as Constables.

                                                                    

            After a thorough investigation, a charge sheet was filed on 2.1.2006 in the Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, New Delhi against  Shri B.K.Sahoo, then Chief Medical Officer, Composite Hospital, BSF Academy, Tekenpur, Gwalior (MP) U/s 13 (2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 for accumulation of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.49.05/- Lakh(approx) which was subsequently transferred to Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Indore 3.9.2009 and then to Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal on 19.01.2011.

           

            The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
