CBI ARRESTS A DEPUTY MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT FOR OFFERING BRIBE OF RS.THREE LAKHS TO CBI'S INVESTIGATING OFFICER

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Deputy Medical Superintendent of Western Coalfields Limited, Chandrapur (Maharashtra) for offering bribe of Rs.Three Lakhs to an Investigating Officer of CBI.

 

            A case was registered on 19.12.2012 U/s 12 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against a Deputy Medical Superintendent posted at Chanda Rayatwari Colliery, Sub Area Rayatwari, Western Coalfields Limited, Chandrapur (Maharashtra) for allegedly offering bribe to an Inspector of CBI.

 

            A case was earlier registered against accused in ACB, CBI, Nagpur. He was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount from the complainant for allegedly showing extra mileage of ambulances taken on hire. A CBI Inspector was investigating the said case. The Deputy Medical Superintendent allegedly offered bribe to CBI Inspector for showing favour to him in the said case.

 

            After verification, CBI laid a trap. The Deputy Medical Superintendent along with his co-brother handed over a sum of Rs.Three lakhs to the CBI Inspector.The accused and his co-brother were arrested.

 

            Both the arrested accused are being produced today before the Special Court for CBI Cases, Nagpur.

 

            Investigation is in progress.
