TWO YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THEN ASSISTANT SECRETARY (EDUCATION) OF UNION TERRITORY DAMAN & DIU FOR POSSESSION OF DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS

            The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Daman has convicted Shri M. R. Trivedi, the then Assistant Secretary (Education) of Union Territory (UT) Daman & Diu, in a disproportionate assets case and sentenced him to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with total fine of Rs. 10,000/-

 

            CBI had registered a case against Shri M. R. Trivedi, Assistant Secretary (Education) in the Administration of Union Territory (UT) Daman & Diu, U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1) (e) of PC Act, 1988 on the allegation that he amassed huge assets to the tune of Rs. 19.69 lacs(approx) disproportionate to his known sources of income.

 

            After thorough investigation, charge sheet was filed on 30.05.2005 in the Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Daman against Shri M. R. Trivedi.

 

            The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
