CBI ARRESTS A MANAGER OF NATIONAL HIGHWAY AUTHORITY OF INDIA FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS.22,000/-

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Manager of National Highway Authority of India(NHAI), Pune for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.22,000/- from the Complainant.

 

            A case was registered against the Manager(Technical), NHAI, Pune for demanding bribe of Rs.25,000/- from the Complainant. The Complainant has alleged that the Manager of NHAI demanded the bribe from him for issuing No Objection Certificate in respect of three plots of land located near National Highway in District Satara( Maharashtra). Later on, the accused agreed to accept Rs.22,000/-. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding & accepting the bribe of Rs.22,000/- from the Complainant at Pune.

 

            Searches were conducted at the residence and office of the accused.

 

            The accused is being produced today before the Special Judge, Pune.
