THREE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THEN PRINCIPAL OF KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA, NEW DELHI IN A BRIBERY CASE

            The Special Judge for CBI Cases,Patiala House Courts, New Delhi has convicted Shri R.K. Dass, then Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sector-5, Dwarka, New Delhi and Shri Shiv Lakhan Mahato, a Peon in a bribery case. Shri R.K. Dass was sentenced to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 70,000/- while Shiv Lakhan Mahato was sentenced to undergo one year Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.15,000/-.

 

            A case was registered against Shri R.K. Dass, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sector-5, Dwarka, New Delhi and Shiv Lakhan Mahato, Peon, U/s 120B IPC & Sec.7 and 13(2) r/w 13 (1)(d) of PC Act 1988. It was alleged in the complaint that the Principal Shri R.K. Dass was demanding a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant for the admission of his daughter in Class-I. After negotiation, the Principal agreed to accept an amount of Rs.30,000/- from the complainant. A trap was laid and both the Principal & the Peon were arrested while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000/- as first installment out of the total bribe of Rs.30,000/-, from the Complainant.

 

            After investigation of the case, a chargehseet was filed on 30.07.2010 in the court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Patiala House Courts New Delhi against both the accused U/s 120B IPC & Sec.7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act 1988.

 

            The Trial Court found both the accused guilty and convicted them.
