THREE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THEN SUB DIVISIONAL INSPECTOR OF POSTAL DEPARTMENT IN A BRIBERY CASE

            The Special Judge for CBI cases, Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh) has convicted Shri Kamta Prasad Sayalwar, then Sub-Divisional Inspector, Postal Department, Bareli, Distt. Raisen(MP) and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 10,000/- in a bribery case.

 

            CBI had registered a Case on 15.03.2011 against Shri Kamta Prasad Sayalwar, Sub-Divisional Inspector, Postal Department, Bareli, Distt.Raisen, MP, U/s 7 & 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act. 1988 on the allegation that Shri Kamta Prasad Sayalwar demanded bribe of Rs. 5000/- from the complainant to send his file relating to Exgratia Gratuity, Group Insurance Scheme, Severance and other allowance to Vidisha(M.P) after verifying & processing the documents for payments. Shri K. P. Sayalwar was caught red handed while accepting the same on 16.03.2011.

 

            After investigation, a charge sheet U/s 7 & 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act. 1988 against Shri Kamta Prasad Sayalwar was filed on 30.04.2011 in the court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal.

 

            The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
