ONE YEAR RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THEN EXECUTIVE ENGINEER OF AIRPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA IN A DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE

            The Special Judge for CBI cases, Mumbai has convicted Shri Virendra Kumar Gupta the then Executive Engineer, Airports Authority of India, Mumbai and sentenced him to undergo one year Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.50,000/- in a disproportionate assets case.

 

            CBI had registered a case U/s.13(2) r/w. 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 against Shri Virendra Kumar Gupta, Executive Engineer, Airports Authority of India, Mumbai for amassing disproportionate assets to known sources of his income to the tune of Rs. 30.79 lakh(approx).

 

            After completion of investigation, charge sheet was filed against Shri Virendra Kumar Gupta before the Special Court, Mumbai on 26.6.2001.

 

            The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
