CBI FILES A CHARGESHEET AGAINST THEN COMMISSIONER (LAND DISPOSAL) DELHI DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY FOR POSSESSION OF ALLEGED DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has today filed a chargesheet in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi against then Commissioner (Land Disposal), Delhi Development Authority, Delhi (an IAS Officer of West Bengal Cadre:1990 Batch); his wife and his father-in-law U/s 109 IPC r/w 13(2) r/w 13 (1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and substantive offences thereof for alleged possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.1.46 crore(approx).

 

            A case was registered on 15.12.2009 against then Commissioner (Land Disposal), Delhi Development Authority, Delhi (an IAS Officer of West Bengal Cadre:1990 batch) and his wife on the allegations that he had acquired movable & immovable assets to an extent of approximately Rs.45.80/- Lakh in his name and in the name of his wife during the period 20.08.1990 to 30.06.2008, which were disproportionate to his known sources of income.

 

            CBI investigation disclosed that the then Commissioner (Land Disposal), DDA was in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.1.46 crore (approx) during the check period from 20.08.1990 to 30.06.2008.

 

            After thorough investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet.

 

            The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian Law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.
