THREE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THEN DEPUTY MANAGER OF STATE BANK OF INDIA IN A DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE

           The Special Judge, CBI cases, Jabalpur has convicted Shri Balmiki Prasad Dwivedi, the then Dy.Manager, State Bank of India, Hanumana Branch, Distt. Rewa (M.P.) U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act 1988 and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs.1,00,000/- and also confiscate an amount of Rs. 40,61,342/- which has been found disproportionate assets in the name of accused.

 

            CBI filed charge sheet before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jabalpur on 25/06/2010  U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act. 1988 , alleging therein that Shri Balmiki Prasad Dwiedi between the period 01/01/2001 and 09/06/2009, while functioning as a public servant in the capacities of Systems Administrator, Field Officer, Manager (Personal Banking division) and Dy. Manager at State Bank of India at Sidhi, Ambikapur and Hanumana Branch, was found in possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income in his name and in the names of his family members to the extent of Rs. 62,58,324/-(approx).

 

           The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
