THREE TO FOUR YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO TWO THEN ASSISTANT GARRISON ENGINEERS IN A BRIBERY CASE

           The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jodhpur (Rajasthan) has today sentenced Shri Janardan Parab, then Assistant Garrison Engineer of MES, Military Station, Suratgarh(Rajasthan) to undergo four years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.3,000/- and Shri Vijay Kumar, then Assistant Garrison Engineer to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.2,000/- in a bribery case.

        CBI had registered a case on 12.06.2014 against Shri Janardan Parab, Assistant Garrison Engineer and Sh. Vijay Kumar, Assistant Garrison Engineer, both working in MES, Military Station, Suratgarh (Rajasthan) on the allegations that the accused entered into a criminal conspiracy & demanded a bribe of Rs. 80,000/- from the complainant for passing the outstanding bills. A trap was laid in which Sh. Janardan Parab was arrested on 12.06.14 while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000/- (Rs 20,000/- for himself and Rs. 20,000/- for Sh. Vijay Kumar). After completion of investigation, a charge sheet was filed on 27.02.2015 U/s 120 B of IPC r/w 7 and 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (d) of PC Act, 1988 against Sh. Janardan Parab and Sh. Vijay Kumar. The charges were framed on 28.09.2015. Total number of 12 witnesses were examined.

          The Trial Court found both the accused guilty and convicted them.
