CBI FILES TWO CHARGESHEETS AGAINST SEVERAL CANDIDATES, IMPERSONATORS & MIDDLEMEN IN SEPARATE CASES RELATED TO VYAPAM

The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a supplementary charge-sheet against a candidate U/s 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 & 120-B of IPC and Section 3(D)(2)/4 of MP recognized Examination Act 1937 before the Special Judge, Vyapam Cases, Gwalior(Madhya Pradesh).

CBI had registered the case on 06.08.2015 against the candidate; Middlemen & unknown solver, on the orders dated 09.07.2015 & 11.09.2015 of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and took over the investigation of FIR No. 132/2015 which was earlier registered in Police Station- Jhansi Road, Gwalior (MP) U/s 120-B, 419, 420, 467,468 & 471 of IPC and Section 3/4 of MP recognized Examination Act 1937. It was alleged that candidate had taken admission in MBBS Course at a Medical College in Gwalior fraudulently by adopting unfair means through impersonation in PMT 2009 Examination which was conducted by Vyapam. It was also alleged that an unknown impersonator appeared on behalf of the actual candidate in the said examination for getting the candidate selected in PMT 2009 and on the basis of result, the accused candidate had taken admission in MBBS Course at said Medical College in Gwalior during 2009. The forensic analysis of the questioned documents during CBI investigation established that the candidate did not appear in the examination.

In another case, CBI filed a chargesheet against 13 accused persons including 05 candidates; 05 Impersonators and 03 middlemen before the Special Magistrate, Vyapam Cases, Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh).

CBI registered the case on 17.07.2015 on the orders of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and taken up the investigation of the case which was earlier registered vide FIR/Crime No.270/13 at Polioce Station -Vishwavidhyalay, Gwalior on 15.09.2013 U/s 3/4 Madhya Pradesh Recognized Act on a complaint. The complainant alleged that on 15.09.2013 while performing his duty as invigilator in Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2013 at a school in Gwalior, he checked one candidate who was trying to appear on behalf of original candidate bearing roll No. 400033. While checking the credential/documents of said Candidate(Impersonator), the complainant observed that the Photo pasted on Roll Number & Identity Card was not matching.

CBI Investigation revealed that the said five candidates allegedly did not appear in the PCRT 2013 exam and in connivance with the middlemen, they had arranged five Solvers who appeared on behalf of these candidates. During investigation, expert opinion on handwritings/signatures and thumb impression available on the documents such as OMR & RASA Sheets were obtained and found that said candidates did not appear in the said examination and the said Solvers appeared on behalf of accused candidates.

After thorough investigation, CBI filed chargesheets in both the cases.

The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian Law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.
