TWO YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THEN ENFORCEMENT OFFICER OF EMPLOYEES’ PROVIDENT FUND ORGANIZATION IN A BRIBERY CASE

            The Special Judge for CBI cases, Visakhapatnam has convicted Smt. Gajjala Raja Kumari, then Enforcement Officer, Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), Regional Office, Guntur and sentenced her to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 4000/- in a bribery case.

            CBI had registered a case against the accused on the allegations of demanding a bribe from the Complainant, a Manager of Diagnostic & Research Centre at Guntur, for showing official favour in the contribution of the subscription of the Employees Provident Fund. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.7000/- from the Complainant.

            After regular trial, the court pronounced judgement convicting the accused Smt.G. Raja Kumari U/s 7 & 13(2) r/w. 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988.
